About the Publisher
Derek Southwood originally wrote "It's not what it seems" for fun.
It wasn't until he realised that the people he had allowed to read it had actually enjoyed his ramblings, that he maybe onto something.
Finding and getting a publisher to actually read a book, unless
you are well established, is a time consuming and soul destroying business when you work all the hours that God sends. It wasn't until a good pal suggested that he published it himself that Southwood Publishing was born.
He has spent most of his working life making books for others. Why not make his own?! In the age of the internet with companies like Amazon who have changed the way books are sold, it has made life a whole lot easier for something that started life as a personal project.
The only thing he couldn't do when he first started was actually switch a computer on, let alone type a 280 page book...
He has come a long way since then and his second book, a novel, "Now That's Not Funny!" is progressing well without a pen and paper in sight.
